Discover the Difference
An early childhood program that gives
your little one a warm and welcoming head start and a foundation for future success

St. Ethelreda offers an outstanding Preschool program to our younger students.

Welcome to You and Your Preschooler - Sending your little one to preschool is a big step, but with personalized attention, excellent academics and convenient hours, you’ll find the transition is easier for you and your child.

Creative Preschool Curriculum - Your preschooler will experience a real academic curriculum through the Creative Curriculum Program for Preschool for All and Headstart. This research-based program meets Illinois' Early Learning Standards and supports language and literacy learning, social and physical development, math, science, social studies and the arts. Preschool also includes Spanish, music, and physical education.

Prepare for Kindergarten - Our preschoolers grow into Kindergarten-readiness. Preschool teachers and assistants work with UIC literacy coaches and faculty to prepare your child for kindergarten success, using the Creative Curriculum Teaching Strategies Gold and Everyday Math programs for all children.

Financial Assistance and Convenient Hours - We accept Childcare Initiative and offer the Preschool for All and Headstart funding programs for qualified applicants. Any preschool student who remains and enrolls in kindergarten at St. Ethelreda School is eligible for an Eagle1 Scholarship. Hours are Monday-Friday 6:00 am- 6:30 pm

Preschool for All Program - Preschool for All is the state of Illinois’ initiative to ensure high-quality preschool programs are available to 3 and 4-year old children. The Preschool for All program is a five-hour, five-day a week program provided to eligible* families at no charge.

St. Ethelreda School offers a Preschool for All Program. The school also offers a voluntary supplemental preschool program, which extends the preschool day to the end of the regular school day. Payment is required for participation in the voluntary supplemental preschool program. The payment is proportionate to the amount of non-Preschool for All time a student spends in the supplemental preschool program.

The hours for the preschool programs are noted below.

Families who participate in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)* will not be charged anything for participation in the Preschool for All program or the supplemental preschool program. The only payment required for CCAP students is the CCAP co-pay.
